Chicken feet
Sorry for the unsightly picture. In case you don’t already know, these are chicken feet. And I’m cooking them in my pot.
And yes, these feet may not look appetizing but do you know that chicken feet broth is a superfood?
Chicken feet is amazing for our health. When cooked slow and at low temperature in water, it gives us a nutrient dense collagen and gelatin rich broth. Collagen and gelatin are great for our skin, but not only that, also for our gut. It has amazing healing properties, and especially for people with distressed digestive system, e.g. an inflamed gut, chicken feet broth is one of the best thing you can have to help heal the inflamed gut lining.
So if you need a boost of collagen and gelatin, boil up some chicken feet, onion, leek, carrot or other veggies. To get maximum gelatin and collagen into the broth, boil it slowly at low temperature, for up to 2 hours. Ideally you will want to eat the feet together with the broth but if you can’t stomach that you can just drink the broth. Drink it in an empty stomach for best absorption. ❤ Trust me, the broth won’t taste like how the feet look. It is delicious!!
Sorry I can’t show you what it looks like after cooking. I was so excited to eat them that I forgot to take pictures. ❤
