When I was studying for my Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation, one of the key topics is preservation and the importance of preservation of the skincare products.Products that are not properly preserved can pose significant health risk to the customers. Anytime a product contains water content, a proper preservation must be in place. However it is not always a straightforward science to preserve skincare products, it will need to depend on the water content, the temperature, the ingredients and the environment. One thing for sure however is that clay is very a hard ingredient to preserve once activated with water i.e. when turned into mud.
