About Us

Sorry for the unsightly picture. In case you don't already know, these are chicken feet. And I'm cooking them in my pot. And yes, these feet may not look appetizing but do you know that chicken feet broth is a superfood? Chicken feet is amazing for our health. When cooked slow and at low temperature in water, it gives us a nutrient dense collagen and gelatin rich broth. Collagen and gelatin are great for our skin, but not only that, also for our gut. It has amazing healing properties, and especially for people with distressed digestive system, e.g. an inflamed gut, chicken feet broth is one of the best thing you can have to help heal the inflamed gut lining.  So if you need a boost of collagen and gelatin, boil up some chicken feet, onion, leek, carrot or other veggies. To get

In the last 20 months, we have dedicated ourselves to creating a sanctuary for us and our little ones. We didn't know when we started that it would be such an amazing journey. ❤ We wanted to create beautiful memories for our children in our own garden. A place for us to rest, to play, to learn, to laugh and to cry. And, unsurprisingly, our best weekends and holidays were spent right here. Be it just laying the pebbles, sowing seeds, building garden beds, picking vegetables, planting a tree, digging out some worms and bugs, hunting for snails, cooking some dinners on our rocket stove, watching black cockatoos steal our pine nuts, building a cubby house or just watch the little ones run around and wind each other up.  I have never felt more at peace and grounded in my life as

It is never too early to get the little ones' hands dirty. Do you know that it is essential that little ones get exposed to dirt? Dirt is full of living microbes, they help build our children's immunity. These days we have adopted an overly hygienic lifestyle. We wash our kids hands with antibacterial wash, we wipe their faces with antibacterial wipes, some even shower them with antibacterial body wash, we sanitise everything in the house and we stop letting our kids play in the dirt.Bad microbes are bad, they can cause our children to be sick. Yes that's true. But do you know that it is not possible go completely avoid bad microbes? The only way to combat this is to have enough good microbes count and a diverse range so that they can keep the bad ones in check. By killing

This is what we had for breakfast this morning. Fried egg (fried in butter), steak, goats cheese served with homemade tomato sauce, homemade sauerkraut and salad from the garden. We try to build in as much fermented food as possible in every meal we have. Fermented food includes food such as, yogurt, milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented veggies, fermented condiments, cheese, tempeh, and many more.Fermented food is amazing for your health and this is why.👉 It helps with digestion. It Is packed full of live enzymes and when eaten with your meal, it helps break down food you are eating it with, making the nutrients from the food easier for the body to absorb.👉 It builds your immunity by building the good bacteria in your gut. Fermented food is packed full of beneficial bacteria both in counts and range of

We live in an era where convenience takes priority over our health, pre-packaged food to save time, toxic preservatives in our products to keep them longer and powerful 5G internet, to provide faster, stronger wireless network connections. It is the last I want to talk about today, 5G has already been rolled out to parts of the world and is currently being rolled out to Australia. The CEO of Telstra is very proud of the upcoming 5G roll out but no safe study has ever been conducted on 5G. We are a generation of human guinea pigs being tested for something that even common sense will tell you that is just downright dangerous. Despite the mounting evidence suggesting harm, people point out that there are no conclusive scientific studies that EMF radiation can cause cancer and significant health problems. Many years ago,

We just had two very big Saturdays. Two Saturdays ago, we sold our house, not the one we are currently living in, the one we used to live in.Just last Saturday, we bought a new house, by the sea!I told David this is his birthday present. He didn't buy it. He demanded another present. 😂 It was his birthday on Saturday. I don't blame him. We have a dream. Our dream is to achieve full financial freedom and live a simple, fulfilling and sustainable life. It is a journey to get there and I think we are on the right path to achieve just that. I'm sure there will be lots of obstacles along the way, but they will just be part and parcel of the journey. 😍This is our story

Just scrolling through my old photos and found this precious photo collage of Oliver at around 4.5 months. It brings back lots of memories and I'm sharing my little story with you. I remember that morning I took Oliver to the pediatrician for his severe eczema where he was prescribed steroid cream. Apart from the ezcema, he was also lethargic and warm to the touch. I told the pediatrician he was probably running a temperature and was lethargic. He didn't do any temperature check or say anything and just sent us home with the steroid prescription. After I got home, I noticed little Oliver was even more lethargic and didn't really wake from his sleep and that his temperature was over 39 degrees. I called the nurse on call and was asked to call the ambulance. I called the ambulance and the paramedics

Last weekend was one of our busiest weekends, almost on par with the weekend after just having given birth to my boys 😍. We had our first market stall on Saturday and an open house on Sunday for Sustainable House Day with around 150 visitors. We (the whole family) spent the following week being sick, quite sick. Throughout the week,  we had lots of detox bath, high dose vitamin C, we brewed and sipped away our immune boosting herbal tea, chewed raw garlic and simply rested. A week on, we are now in a much better place and are recovering well.I remember just under two years ago, the whole family went through a very rough patch. We battled 6 severe flu in 6 months and I don't remember a day of not having at least one of us being sick. At our

On Sunday, Sustainable Open House day, we opened up our home to 150 visitors. We shared with them our passion for organic and sustainable living. We took them for a walk through our edible garden, we spoke about our simple #nodiggarden using the #backtoeden approach, which is to use tree mulch (leaves and bark) to build up the soil and to enrich it. And with that simple method, we can have an instant garden bed. We showed them our 3 recycled bathtubs which have been converted to instant garden beds, one of which is our edible water garden. Also discussed how we diverted our bath water into our garden so we can have guilt-free bath. As we do not use any chemicals in our bath, mainly just epsom salt and bentonite clay which are high in beneficial trace minerals and greatly benefit

Many of you would have heard or read about the amazing benefits of calendula and chamomile. I first decided to use calendula and chamomile oil infusion when my baby at the time suffered from severe eczema and his paediatrician prescribed him steroid cream to be applied 3 times a day. At the time, I already started my journey to a cleaner and healthier living, minimising uses of commercial products with toxic chemicals, especially products applied to the skin. Skin is our biggest organ. Constituents in skincare, including those found in chemicals and preservatives applied to the skin get absorbed through the skin and end up in our bloodstream. A lot of these chemicals and preservatives are highly toxic and when applied regularly, can result in increased level of toxicity in our body, creating all sorts of health issues.I was determined not to
